We would appeal to any school deciding which charity to support to consider AAIR. With almost half of all school children in the UK now suffering from asthma and allergies AAIR really is a charity they can identify with.
In fact a recent study (published in the medical journal The Lancelot) showed British Children now top the international league table for asthma and allergies with cases of asthma doubling over the past two decades and cases of hay fever and eczema trebling. This means 47% of UK children (3.5 million) now suffer from at least one of these conditions.
Supporting AAIR does not just help AAIR raise funds for vital equipment but can prove educational for the students. AAIR is always happy to welcome small groups of students to our laboratories and our scientists can visit schools to give entertaining and educational talks about asthma and allergic disease.
