Our State-of-the-art Laboratories
It is largely thanks to your generous donations that Southampton remains a leading force in the global fight against asthma and allergic disease.
AAIR chairman and top asthma expert Professor Stephen Holgate said: ‘We are in the midst of an allergy and asthma epidemic, yet still, clinical services to help patients with allergy are very limited. Despite this the
AAIR charity has helped Southampton to stay on top as one of the premier research and clinical allergy centres in the UK.”
Phase one of The Brooke Laboratory was completed five years ago, since its official opening in 2001 the single refurbished laboratory has grown to three times its original size and now houses around £1.5m worth of specialist equipment, vital to cutting-edge medical research.
We appreciate any donations, however small they really do make a difference. Wherever possible we purchase items to the value of each donation and a small engraved plaque is attached to the equipment in recognition of those who donated the funds. We are always pleased to welcome you to see the items bought and meet those at the forefront of the research.
